When creating an account in amoCRM, the first standard sales pipeline with basic stages (Initial Contact, Offer Made, Negotiation, Closed-Won, Closed-Lost) is automatically created. Since you know your business more than we do, It can be completely changed in accordance with the needs of your business.

When creating sales stages, you need to understand what exactly they are needed for. After passing the lead to the sales pipeline, amoCRM will independently record the statistics for each stage and make them available for your perusal in the Stats section. In particular, you will be able to know the conversion rate as leads move from stage to stage, that is, to understand how many customers are moving to the next stage, and how many are leaving. You can also find out the average time spent by the leads in each stage. After amoCRM collects a certain amount of statistics, the system will be able to build a sales forecast, based on the analysis of past sales and the current customer slice.

In addition, for each stage you can configure automatic actions such as sending an email, setting up a task or sending SMS with the built-in unique Digital Pipeline. Read more about the Digital Pipeline here.

Setting Up a Pipeline

When starting out with a pipeline, we recommend you highlight only the most important stages since in the future you can add new stages at any time, or leave the pipeline by default. In order to go to the pipeline setup, you need to go to the Leads section. Then click on "Setup Pipeline" in the upper right corner.

You are now in edit mode. At the top of the line are all the stages of sales of the chosen pipeline. With the “+” button you can add new stages to the desired location of the pipeline. Clicking on an already existing stage allows you to edit it - rename it or change its color scheme. You can change the position of any stage on the pipeline by simply dragging and dropping, and delete it by moving it to the trash in the lower right corner of the screen. All pipelines end in two stages, which can not be deleted but can be renamed. These stages are "Closed - Won" and "Closed - Lost" for successful and unsuccessful leads, respectively.

If you have several sales strategies that require different stages, we have got you covered. You can create several pipelines by clicking on the pipeline name in the upper left corner. This opens a list of existing pipelines and allows you to edit their names and to add new ones.

Creating a Lead Card

Great! Now you know how to set up a sales pipelines, let's create our first lead. There are several ways to do this - the "New Lead" button in the upper right corner of the Leads section, the "Quick Add" button in the pipeline as well as in the "Lead" tab in individual contact or company cards. Let's use the "New Lead" button.

Clicking on the "New Lead" button opens a lead card. This card is divided into two sections - Left and right. On the left part, there are information fields where you can enter all the information about the transaction, contacts, and company connected with it. amoCRM's flexibility gives you the freedom to delete or add custom fields. You can learn how to do that here. On the right part, is the history of the event. It records the entire history of activities and communication with the lead. Calls, tasks, notes, chats, even field changes and much more are recorded here.

Let's leave the Name field empty, the system will generate it automatically, specify the budget and add the contact and company name. Click save. Go to the Leads section, on the upper left, we are convinced that we have chosen the view of the pipeline and see our first lead.

Now let's run it through the stages, just move it further along the pipeline using Drag and Drop. And then, to make it more interesting let's transfer it to Won.

Now go to the Stats section. We select the Sales Analysis report and see how the report with the sales pipeline is filled in, all the stages in a pipeline are immediately in view, and just below, the report on the conversion rate by stages is displayed. Cheers! We made 100% conversion rate in each stage of our pipeline.
